The Story

Enlist the help of Orvis-endorsed outfitter Tyson Tabler at Feathered Fowl Outfitters on your wingshooting trip to Saskatchewan, Canada. “Unparalleled” … “incomparable” … “second-to-none” … these are just a few terms that have been used to describe Feathered Fowl Outfitters, Saskatchewan's elite waterfowl and upland bird hunting outfitter. We have secured only the finest locations in Saskatchewan to put our clients where the birds want to be. Whether dark or light geese, dabbling or diving ducks, or upland birds, you can rest assured that your hunt with Feathered Fowl Waterfowl Outfitters will leave you feeling as though you have reached the pinnacle of your wingshooting adventures! Arguably the most sought-after waterfowl destination in the world, Saskatchewan, Canada is a must for every waterfowl hunter’s “bucket list.” To go along with the swarms of birds you will see, Saskatchewan has incredibly generous bag limits—nearly triple the limits of many states in the U.S. Shooting is fast and furious and at the end of your day, you will be awe-struck at the pile of birds you and your buddies have harvested. This is Saskatchewan waterfowl hunting—get ready for the experience of a lifetime! Very few places in North America offer both wild upland bird hunting and waterfowl hunting in the same area, let alone the same hunt. Our southern zones lend themselves to some of the best Hungarian partridge and sharp-tailed grouse hunting North America has to offer paired with the swarms of waterfowl Saskatchewan is known for. With liberal bag limits for both upland and ducks, there is ample opportunity to hear the blast of your shotgun ring through the wide-open fields of the southern Saskatchewan prairies!

Highlights:

  • Canada, specklebelly, and snow geese, mallards, pintails, huns, and sharptail
  • Hunt the vast grain fields and prairies of Saskatchewan
  • Guides pride themselves on work-ethic and knowledge of our hunting areas
  • Rates start from $3,400 for an all-Inclusive three-day package
  • Fall season runs from September 1st through October 31st; Spring season runs from mid-April to mid-May

Orvis is pleased to offer our travel customers access to two valuable services: Global Rescue travel membership and IMG Signature Travel Insurance℠.

Lodging at our local hotels comes complete with a hot tub, pool, sauna, fitness center, and a business center. Friendly, helpful staff and high-quality furnishings are the reasons we lodge our hunters at our selected locations, and we are confident that these accommodations will exceed your expectations. All packages are based on single-occupancy rooms.

Feathered Fowl waterfowl hunting professionals have a combined six decades of wingshooting experience; only the most passionate and professional of guides lead our Saskatchewan waterfowl and upland bird hunts. In the field or on the water, we use only the latest first-class products to ensure every hunt is the best it can be. Whether it is a swarm of full-body decoys in a pea field or a well-placed pattern on the water as the morning mist rises, you know you are about to experience every waterfowler’s dream at the sound of approaching birds in the distance. Waterfowl hunts start early with a light continental breakfast and coffee at the hotel. From there you will follow your guide(s) to the field and assist with getting the decoys and blinds set for the hunt. After your morning shoot ends, you will head back to the hotel for a warm meal and a bit of rest. You will depart in the early afternoon for the evening shoot, assuming you didn't harvest your limits that morning! Upland bird hunters get a bit more rest, and a bit of a heartier breakfast. After you have gotten your fill of eggs, waffles, toast, muffins, bacon, sausage, and coffee you will follow your guide(s) to the field to start the day. You will spend the day, or as much time needed to fill limits, walking various tree rows, farmsteads, and grain fields chasing huns and sharp-tails. For our upland hunts we tend to utilize small-town cafes but don't be fooled, you will leave full and happy.

Endless grain fields with swarms of ducks and geese, miles of tree rows, and field after field of grass and cover full of huns and sharptails. No matter the setting, we have it covered as our area spans 14,000 square miles of prime Saskatchewan farmland!

Is it hard to bring a gun into Saskatchewan?

No, it is a very simple process. We will provide you with the proper paperwork required—it is a single-page declaration you fill out before your trip.

Where do we fly to?
