12:00 PM Arrival at training facility
12:15 PM Meet and greet with instructors, skill assessment
12:30 PM Classroom Tutorial: Fly fishing
- Introduction into the fundamentals of fly fishing
- Discussion of gear: rods, reels, line etc.
- Stream entomology
- Flies & fly selection
- Reading water & currents
- Fly casting techniques
- Hands on casting practice
4:30 PM Classroom tutorial: Wingshooting
- Introduction into the fundamentals of wingshooting
- Overview of the instinctive method of wingshooting
- Introduction to gear
- Shotgun safety: proper handling and use of shotguns
- Discussion of gauges and ammunition
- Proper mount, stance and shotgun fit
6:00 PM Family-style dinner
Day 2: Saturday
9:00 AM Arrival at training center & continental breakfast
9:30 AM Safety briefing. Students paired with fishing guide
10:00 AM Full day guided float trip on the Upper Delaware River
1:00 PM Lunch on the river

9:30 AM In the field shooting instruction to include
- Safety briefing
- Hands-on practice of proper gun mount
- Instruction and practice of varying target presentations

Your hosts for this one-of-a-kind school will be the team from Orvis-Endorsed Catskill Casts & Coverts. Their instructors and guides have decades of experience teaching students of all skill levels.
The backdrop of this school will be the incredible Catskill Mountains. Students will fish the world-famous Upper Delaware River, arguably the best dry-fly-fishing river east of the Rocky Mountains. Wingshooting will take place on the Catskill Casts & Coverts home property.

Is prior experience necessary?
No. This school is geared toward the absolute beginner/intermediate angler and shooter.
Is use of equipment included?
Yes. All fishing and shooting equipment needed for the school will be provided if necessary.
Are waders needed?
No. Fishing will be out of a drift boat and though waders are not necessary, they are recommended.
