A unique learning opportunity for beginning upland hunters, or those interested in honing their understanding of the field hunting experience. This course is designed to take students from the basics of wingshooting technique right through participation in field hunts. Professional guides and instructors will be at your side every step of the way.

The Orvis shotgun shooting instructors are consummate professionals who use the English Churchill method to analyze and improving your style. This instinctive approach to shotgunning offers both the novice and the seasoned veteran a complete shooting system that can be used for upland and waterfowl hunting, and sporting clays. The fundamentals of the Orvis system include stance, footwork, gun handling, swing, visual concentration, proper gun mount, and correct fit of the gun stock.

The second day of the course will be spent in the field, alongside an instructor and field guide. Here, the skills of from day one are put into practice, as you hunt our quail fields with working bird dogs. This is one of the greatest opportunities for aspiring upland hunters, offering not only improvement on the fundamentals, but continued instruction and improvement in a real-world hunting environment.
