The Orvis Colorado Fly-Fishing School is held at The Charter at Beaver Creek in the heart of the Vail Valley. Situated in the heart of the Beaver Creek Ski Resort, The Charter is located within walking distance of Beaver Creek Village. 9:30 Video presentation: The Orvis Progressive Fly-Casting Method Part One and Two: Demonstration on the basic casting stroke, shooting line false casting, false casting and shooting line, and roll casting.
10:45 Report to casting area for demonstration on the basic casting stroke; students casting.
12:00pm Lunch (catered to school).
1:00 Classroom presentation: Knot-tying seminar. Discussion on leaders, hands-on know tying.
1:15 Report to casting area for demonstration on shooting line, false casting, and roll casting; students casting. Videotape students casting.
4:15 Return to classroom for closing statements, and graduation certificates.
4:30 End of school.

9:45 Video presentation: The Orvis Progressive Fly-Casting Method Part Three: The double haul. Video analysis.
10:45 Report to casting area for demonstration on the double haul; students casting. Demonstration on hook-setting and fish-fighting techniques.
12:00pm Lunch (catered to school).
1:00 Orvis-Endorsed fishing trips and tips on fishing with guides. Discussion on wading safety.
1:30 Eagle River trip – Discussion on reading water. Demonstration on fishing flies in moving water. Students fishing.
3:30 Return to classroom for closing statements and graduation certificates.
