Description: About Flambeau River

The Flambeau river is a truly wild northern Wisconsin river and has some of the best smallmouth bass and musky fishing around. Lined by dense forests the river is target rich with the many rocks and down trees. You have the potential of catching a fish of a lifetime on every cast. While on the river you have an opportunity of seeing some of the abundant wildlife such as river otters, eagles, deer and black bear. Please note that the musky season opens the last weekend in May.

Fishing can be good all day.

Best Stretch:

Nine mile put in to Flaters Resort at the confluence of the Chippewa river.
