5-Day Outlook as of 3/24/24

If the weather calls for wind, Becker can be a miserable place to be.

Techniques & Tips as of 3/24/24

Fish chironomids under indicators, streamers, and leeches. Follow the wind! We have been having luck setting our indicator rigs just a foot above the bottom. Otherwise a foot above the weed beds if they are still roaming shallow!

Description: About Becker Lake

Becker Lake is located right outside of Springerville, Arizona. It is a catch and release, artificial fly and lure only lake. This lake is typically free from ice year round and is one of the top destinations in the White Mountains for quality Rainbow Trout. In 2016 AZ Game and Fish also started stocking Tiger Trout which had already reached 14-16" and continue to grow fast. The average sized rainbow is a solid 16-18" with 20" fish caught on a daily basis. This is the home lake of the White Mountains Lake Foundation and they have done some great work here. Stripping Leeches early and late in the year and fishing ice cream cone midges under an indicator are the go to tactics. Summer can be great for throwing hoppers along the weed lines
