Description: About East Lake

Located a short drive SE of Bend, East Lake is a very unique fishery as it is located in the Newberry Caldera. Newberry is home to two distinct lakes, Paulina and East Lakes, and has many small undeveloped hot springs along the shores. It also houses the largest obsidian flow in the world. Both Rainbows and Browns grow to exemplary size and fight hard in the high elevation fishery. Camping is crowded most times of the year for good reason, who can say they've slept in the maw of a recently active volcano!!!
