Whether heading for El Pescador or any other bonefish/permit/tarpon destination, practice casting for a week or 10 days prior to your trip. Work out any winter-induced kinks and be ready when your guide says, "50-feet mon, 11 o'clock."

Fishing Report: April 8, 2024 The weather conditions were good; This week has been sunny & cloudy, great weather to catch some fish. We did catch a good number of Bonefish, But not a lot of permit & tarpon this week. We caught other species such as barracuda, jack & snappers. Weather: The weather this week was good, there were a few sunny days with no wind & there was also some days where the wind notes were between 10-20. Water Temperature: 78 Deg F. Moon phase: New Moon April 8 First Quarter April 15 Sunrise 5:39 am Sunset: 6:06 pm WHAT GUESTS WERE CATCHING Bonefish (Macabi) More than 178 bones were landed for the week, most were in the 2-4 pound range. Permit (Palometa): 7 Permits were landed. Snook (Robalo): 1 Snook Tarpon (Sabalo): 2 Tarpon were landed. Other Species: Rounding out the week anglers landed some Jacks, Snapper, and big Barracuda. Grand Slam:1 Flies that worked: Bonefish – Christmas Island Specials in gold, pearl, and pink sizes 4 & 6, and Crazy Charlies in pink and orange and shrimp patterns. Permit – squmip rag head crabs, and strongarms crabs. Tarpon- toads, chartreuse, and black/purple bunnies are the flies of choiceLocal Species Available Year-Around
